Our second week in Thailand, we went to a beach town name Krabi, and stayed at a resort called Nakamanda Resort and Spa for about six days. The resort is located on the Klong Muang Peninsula area.
This was a very nice place to stay as it is right on the beach, and includes a spa (which we took advantage of a couple times), a pool, a restaurant/bar, and a yoga studio.
The first night we arrived in Krabi was my 40th Birthday. So we decided to have dinner at the resort looking out at the ocean. It was a delicious seafood platter followed by dessert and drinks.
The next day we rented a moped so we can ride all throughout the town and explore other beach towns including Railay Beach, and also checked out a night market in Krabi Town. As we were walking along the beach we located a bunch of monkey’s hanging out under a large tree and a park area.
The next few days, we spent exploring more temples including hiking up the The Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea). This was a 1,260 step climb. It was extremely hot (and a monkey jumped on me) but it was extremely worth it, to see the Buddha Temple and the views.
Afterwards, we also explored another cave called the Tham Phra Nang Nai Cave.
We also celebrated Thailand’s New Year which is Songkram Day, and the way they celebrate is having a water festival in the towns. We rode on our moped in the town of Krabi to get water thrown on us and shoot water at everyone else! It was super fun and an excellent way to cool off. For the rest of our time in Krabi, we went on more boat tours, checked out a few more beaches and Islands including the Hong Island where we did some snorkeling. We ate at some more restaurants around the town including the Mueang Krabi District. We also checked out more shops and night markets including the AO Nang Market. Of course, we also had some more fun riding around on our moped before we had to return it.
