Thailand/Singapore Trip Part 1 – Bangkok & Khao Sok National Park

April was my 40th birthday, so Walter and I decided to go all out for it and took a two week trip to Thailand with a stop in Singapore. In Southern Thailand, we spent time in Bangkok, Khao Sok National Park, and Krabi. Since there are so many pictures I want to share, I decided to split this entry into three parts. We were on this trip from April 5th to April 19th, 2026. The first couple of days on our trip we explored the City of Bangkok. The rooftop at our hotel had a beautiful view of the City.

In Bangkok, we stayed near Chinatown and took a couple boat tours around the city, and explored several temples, including Wat Arun (The temple of Dawn), The Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Paknam Temples.

We also took a boat ride on Yai Canal, visited Tha Tian Market, The Artists House (coffee shop, where you can do arts and crafts), had some yummy food, and later on in the evening got massages at “Blessed Hands at Thai Massage.”

After Bangkok, we journeyed off to Khao Sok National Park, and stayed for two nights at Cheow Lan Lake.

We took a couple boat tours to explore the scenery and wildlife; and saw some monkeys!

We also took a hike and went into some caves and also went swimming and kayaking right outside of our lake house.

After the lake, we moved onto the Jungle! We are still in the National Park, and stayed in the jungle in a cabin/treehouse like place for two nights. I also want to mention that April is the most hot and humid time of the year in Thailand, and it was a little tough this place did not have AC, however it was covered with trees so it wasn’t too terrible! This place is full of monkeys, so be sure to lock your cabins and hide your food!

We took a little night tour safari into the jungle and saw some nocturnal creatures including frogs, Snakes, spiders, and scorpions.

The next day, We went to an Elephant Sanctuary! we got to hang out with the rescued elephants, watch them get mud baths, and even fed them! This was a great place to go.

That was our first week in Thailand, then the next stop is Krabi! Continued in part two entry.
