Last Creations of 2025 and Goals for 2026

It is now time to wrap up 2025, who can believe it! 2025 was a bit of roller coaster year for me, but I must say one of the highlights was attending Quiltcon for the very first time! I didn’t complete as many blog posts this year as I mentioned in my previous post, since I needed to focus on my mental health more, and I did not finish as many quilts this year. One of the quilts I am currently working on, is a year long project that I will explain in more detail in the future when it is all finished up. I wanted to share a few finished and unfinished projects. The quilt below is called the “Eras Quilt” which I finished last month.

The idea for this quilt began as a personal challenge; using collected fabric scraps to create a 12 block scrappy quilt, with each block symbolizing a Taylor Swift album beginning with her Debut Album and ending with “The Life of a Showgirl.” I finished it up with some hand quilting and machine embroidered all of the names of her albums on the back of the quilt.

I also just made another colorful quilted vest. I cut, sewed, quilted all the little scrappy squares and used the same pattern I used on the first quilted vest I made last year.

Last but not least is my incomplete project; the front and back of quilt tops that I will be sending off to be long armed. I am hoping this will be included in a project with the Quilt Guild that will take place later on next year, and there will be more details on that in a future blog post as well.

My goals for next year will be about the same as this year. More relaxed quilt projects, and practicing new skills I recently picked up such as hand embroidery. I hope everyone has a happy and healthy 2026, and I will be in touch next year!
