So, time must have just slipped away from me because I just realized that I have not posted in my blog for about 3 months! Summer certainly flew by and has been extremely hot! The past few months, I have been busy with work, hiking, and taking up new hobbies such as biking and kayaking. Of course, I still did not let my quilting projects get too far behind! There are several quilting projects I have finished up, and I will be showing a couple of them in this post, and the rest in future entries.
At the end of May, I completed a mini improv quilt that is now hanging in my living room above the couch.

I really enjoy doing improv quilting and with this one I did mostly improv circles. I used mostly cotton neutral colored fabrics and snuck in a few upcycled denim materials.

The next project I completed was a large quilted pillow that I made from a Foundation Paper piecing pattern. This FPP pattern turned out to be a lion!

This pattern was one of the more challenging paper piecing patterns I have worked with but overall, it was very fun to make! I did tweak up some colors a bit from what the pattern originally suggested, because I wanted to make it a little more unique. I used mostly batik fabrics, and then I added an orange/yellow border. I think this pillow turned very well, and it is good FPP practice!

You can find this pattern on Etsy at: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PrideandJoyQuilting
This pattern designer has all sorts of other fabulous FPP piecing patterns as well!
Last but not least, I made these two 12.5 inch quilt blocks and sent them to “Wrap the World with Quilts.”

I have sent several quilts to this organization and mentioned them a few times in previous blog posts. They are currently accepting 12.5 inch quilt blocks from makers to participate in the #SUNFLOWERQUILTFORUKRAINE PROJECT, where all quilt blocks will be combined to make one large quilt!
