Glacier National Park Trip

A couple weeks ago, we took a trip with a few friends to Montana in Glacier National Park. We were there for three whole days. We flew in and stayed the night in Great Falls, Montana and the next day we drove around to check out a few areas of the park.

We also did a short little hike the first day. The weather did not start out too great. It was a bit windy and chilly, but the views were still beautiful.

At the end of the day, we briefly checked out Lake McDonald, and then drove to our mountain cabin which was located in the Town of Essex.

The next day in Glacier we did a 10 mile hike at Grinnell Lake. The weather was sunny and a bit warm and the hike itself was a bit long and challenging, but it was an absolute gorgeous hike with some beautiful views. The hike included some waterfalls, crystal blue lakes, and the glacier at the end of the hike in Upper Grinnell Lake.

Our third full and final day, we went to another part of Glacier and kayaked in Medicine. We were kayaking on Two Medicine Lake for a few hours, until it got cloudy and windy. The views did not disappoint here as well.

Glacier National Park is an absolutely gorgeous park and I highly recommend for everyone to visit. The pictures I took do not do a gist on how beautiful it was.

I must say, the only disappointment part of the trip was not seeing a bear or a moose. However, there were some wildlife spotted on our adventures including bighorn sheep, marmots, and chipmunks. Oh, and there are grizzly bears in Glacier. So if you plan to do any hikes, don’t forget your bear spray!
