It has been a late and long winter, but I believe it is finally over! The snow is melting and the flowers are blooming! I took another short break from sewing but I am back at it again! I printed a few older photos that I took from last year on fabric, including sunflowers and the Eiffel Tower. I used some new and old scraps of fabric I already had to make new tote bags that includes the photos in the middle of the bags. I was testing new patchwork and I think they turned out great!
I have also realized that my baskets of fabric have been getting completely full. I decided to cut up my scraps of fabric and start making patched work reusable market bags! For Earth day, I made a market bag made from up-cycled scraps of fabric. The theme is the bears and the bees! More up-cycled bags coming soon!
I also made some new home decor! I painted a CO flag on a recycled mason jar, and included some yellow spring flowers!
I am also excited for this years trip to Puerto Villarta, Mexico! I made myself a new carry-on bag, and of course it has sugar skulls!

Hello! My name is Julie. I live in Denver, Colorado, but I was born and grew up in Virginia. I began to design and sew handbags in 2009. I have participated in several craft shows/markets, and sold my bags in a local artisan gift shop in Virginia. I mostly create handbags and pouches, but I also love to weave, take photos, and I just recently started getting into quilting. In my spare time I sew (of course), bake, hike, ski, attend craft/art shows, and spend time with my husband and my dog Lilly. Several of my bags are inspired by Day of the Dead and Sugar Skulls, but recently I have been getting my inspirations from hiking in the Colorado Mountains. I have been fascinated with nature, trees, and flowers. I have been making my bags with fabrics that have a wilderness theme, including patterns with mountains, trees, flowers, animals, and the colors of nature including fall colors. My blog mostly focuses on my creations and inspirations, and every now and then, I will write about my trips and travel adventures. My goal is to share and inspire everyone who is reading. Enjoy!
